Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is an integral part of the Accounting Team, providing solutions for both general ledger accounting and accounts payable processing.  This position requires a seasoned accountant with a strong understanding of daily accounting department tasks and a passion for renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily general ledger accounting activities for cash reconciliations, prepaid expenses, payroll, accrued liabilities and various other accruals.
  • Support quarter-end close activities related to assigned general ledger accounting accruals and adjustments.
  • Timely reconciliation of multiple cash accounts on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Maintain prepaid expense schedule and prepare expense amortization on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries each payroll and perform accrued payroll liability accruals on a quarterly basis.
  • Analyze purchase activity by vendor and develop monthly accrued liability journal entries.
  • Input daily accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and proper coding, along with timely processes of bi-weekly checkruns.
  • Prepare backup vendor payment documentation for urgent or non-routine requests from other key functional departments.
  • Input and maintenance of vendor files accounting software.
  • Support corporate credit card program and record activity on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with various aspects of the annual external financial statement audit, including preparation of audit schedules as assigned.
  • Prepare required filings for IRS Form 1099 year-end reporting.
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments as requested, along with job-related activities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience (public accounting experience preferred).
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise preferred.
  • Multi-entity accounting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of real estate accounting and sales & local tax (SALT) a plus.
  • Experience in renewable energy industry preferred.
