JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our Client is seeking an interim Payroll Manager to cover for an employee leave. This contract role will allow you to work in all aspects of payroll operations (vendors, systems, processes and integration). The Payroll Manager creates timely and compliant payrolls, in addition to streamlining processes and providing top-tier customer service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct payroll analysis, as needed
- Manage the Payroll team and work to make it successful
- Partner with other areas in Finance, as well as Human Resources, Tax, IT, and other departments as necessary for reporting, compliance and strategic analysis
- Manage and monitor all internal and external audits
- Handle payroll staff and operations
- Develop ideas with fellow members of senior Finance leadership team
- Create all weekly, monthly, and special compensation payroll runs. Clarify pay policies (LOA, disability, worker's compensation, vacation, bonus, etc.) and make sure proper amounts/deductions are applied to earnings codes in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws
- Build upon current processes by recommending, leading, and working on a range of projects
- Maintain internal safeguards by managing record keeping and control systems
- Handle pre- and post-payroll auditing/reconciling procedures and troubleshoot anomalies
- Hold meetings with senior executives and cross-functional business leaders to show information and to answer any questions they may have
Education or Experience (in years):
- More than ten years of Payroll experience preferred
- Sound knowledge of payroll-related cloud-based technology solutions
- Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) certification essential
- Proficiency in Payroll Design and Implementation
- Skilled in a number of payroll applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
Assistant Controller
Pay Range: $40-$60 per hour
Compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. Our full-time Consultants have access to benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401K as well as PTO, sick leave, and other benefits mandated by localities where they reside or work.
