Global Controller
Contract
Seeking a seasoned and strategic Global Corporate Controller to join our executive finance leadership team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting leader with a demonstrated history of success in private equity environments, multi-entity global operations, and scalable financial infrastructures. The Corporate Controller will oversee all aspects of global accounting and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards, maintaining internal controls, and driving continuous process improvements. This is a critical leadership role that will serve as a key partner to senior leadership and play a significant role in shaping the future of the company’s financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial statements across global entities and currencies, ensuring full compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.
- Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Manage the global annual audit process, including coordination with external auditors and preparation of technical accounting memoranda and supporting documentation.
- Design, implement, and monitor internal control systems to ensure the integrity of financial data and safeguard company assets.
- Maintain compliance with applicable financial regulations, tax requirements, and accounting standards in all operating jurisdictions.
- Ensure balance sheet integrity through comprehensive account reconciliations, robust monthly reviews, and rigorous adherence to internal controls.
- Develop and enforce global accounting policies and procedures, ensuring strong governance and risk management.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline reporting, improve accuracy, and increase operational efficiency.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support key business decisions.
- Partner with Finance and IT teams to evaluate and implement ERP systems enhancements or transitions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including prior experience in a corporate controller role at a global organization.
- Extensive technical knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS experience is highly desirable.
- Proven success in a private equity-backed environment, with exposure to M&A, due diligence, and exit transactions.
- Strong background in managing accounting functions across multi-entity, multi-currency operations.
- Experience in the medical device, healthcare, or life sciences industries preferred; manufacturing background a strong plus.
- Demonstrated success in leading global audits and managing compliance with international financial regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred) and advanced Excel skills; experience with financial reporting tools is advantageous.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
